In addition to W. Allan Hancock, the artist behind the 2011 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp, the event featured several guest speakers from various conservation organizations including Parks Canada, the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Girl Guides of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Nature, and the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums. |
Thirty students from St. Francis Xavier High School were in attendance to hear Mr. Hancock speak about how nature inspires his artwork, as well as participate in a sketching exercise with him. The students also had the opportunity to watch a presentation about the impact of habitat loss on wildlife from the Earth Rangers. |
