Wildlife Habitat Canada is pleased to be partnered with the Canadian Wildlife Federation Robert Bateman Get to Know Program. This year Wildlife Habitat Canada will be hosting a launch event for the 2011 Get to Know Contest at the Canadian Museum of Nature the morning of April 21, 2011. The event will feature  2011 Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp Artist W. Allan Hancock. Youth from Ottawa area schools will be in attendance to participate in a sketching activity with W. Allan Hancock and work on artwork to submit to the contest.  The Earth Rangers and their Animal Ambassadors will also be on hand to talk to about habitat loss and how it impacts wildlife.

Mr. Hancock will be making a public presentation from 12:00-1:00pm in the Mammal Gallery about how nature inspires his artwork. We would like to invite all Wildlife Habitat Canada fans, supporters, and collectors to see Mr. Hancock speak. His presentation will be open to the public and free with museum admission.

The 2011 Get to Know Contest runs from April 10 – May 23, 2011. We hope that all young people will submit their writing, photography, and artwork to the contest. Learn more here.
